When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” Luke 24:30-32

Have you ever experienced the joy of God’s presence when you looked in the “rear view mirror”?  Sometimes, it takes the perspective of hindsight to recognize that He was with us during our trials. Jesus’ followers were no different.  After His crucifixion, they were confused, scared, and blind to what it meant. But, the resurrected Jesus began to walk alongside them on their journey. And when the time was right, Jesus opened their eyes to see His presence with them.  Oh, the joy of looking in the “rear view mirror”! As you go through difficulties, be assured that God is with you as you struggle. Ask Jesus to open your eyes to see Him in the “rear view mirror”. May the hindsight view of His everlasting presence bring you joy on your journey.
