So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again; then you will rejoice, and no one can rob you of that joy. John 16:22
“You can’t steal my joy”, my co-worker exclaimed as he walked into the workroom. As I quizzically looked at him, he explained that he was not going to let anyone take away his joy today, no matter what they said. In the days after that encounter, I’ve pondered that statement and its reality. Do I let other people steal away my feeling of joy by their actions or words? Do you? God gives us joy in our heart, but we have the choice to either remind ourselves of His joy or to let other people draw us into their non-joyous state. What choice will you make for this day?
